Baby D’s a comin’ | Dana + Jeff Maternity Shoot

Hello all. My sweet friends Jeff and Dana will have a baby this month. I can’t believe it. But I am super excited for them. I can’t wait to meet baby D. He/She will be so loved and so cared for by these two. Here are some faves from their maternity shoot we did a few weeks ago!

August 20th is just around the corner!!

Boy or Girl? Boy or Girl?

Happy 1 Year Brett+Kim!

Hey Brett and Kim! I can’t believe it’s already been a year:) I was just thinking of you both today and was remembering how special your wedding was. I still love all the pictures from that day and so I am re-posting some that I love. Here’s to many, many more years!

Mix tape Monday…mom and me

Mix Tape Monday-my mom: The last six days have been so much fun. My mom flew down to visit and just spend time with me…and we had SUCH A GOOD TIME. My mom loves me SO WELL. She has the biggest heart, is so sacrificial and giving, and her and my dad both show me the selfless love of God by the way they love me and my two brothers (and our spouses & their grand kids for that matter). She is always thinking of others, serves so fully and completely and she lavished the love of God on me and my husband these past six days. Our house is a lot homier and more cheerful with her having been here. I am sad today that she flew back to the top of Texas while I live in the opposite direction-but I TREASURE the time spent with her. I love you mom and dad so much! Here’s a gem of a photo for your viewing pleasure. In my last post, I talked about the Avett Brothers and I wanted to mention another song of theirs called “Murder in the City,” because there is a line in it that is very fitting for how I feel about my parents. Although it was written to describe the love between a husband and wife-I think it definitely applies…

“Always remember there is nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name.”

Mix Tape Monday…Friends, Brothers, and oh yes, there will be dancing!

Hey all! It’s been a L-O-N-G time since I posted a Mix Tape Monday post, but at the request of my friend Millie…I am reviving it. I just got back from a fun weekend with my friends Dana, Millie, and Lesley and it was really a sweet time. We talked, laughed a LOT, ate good food and enjoyed being around each other again. I am so thankful that I was invited to the party and I am wishing for more times like that. As for other mix tape news…I have DEFINITELY jumped on The Avett Brothers bandwagon and I am there to stay. I have been listening to these guys for two months straight now after seeing them in concert with my friend Adri in Houston in May…and if you haven’t checked them out yet stop reading right now and look them up. Another band that I was introduced to last spring (by Adri once again!) was Local Natives-and I got to see them in concert in March. SOOO good. I’ll post two videos of both bands below. And as with every summer, I am obsessed with SYTYCD. This season has been really good so far and my favorites are Melanie and Marko. The show has been mixing up the choreographers this season-and I’m digging what they’re throwing down. I’ll post a group routine of the top 7 guys doing a “seven stages of grief” routine. Man, I wish I could dance! Also, posting my favorite routine from last week…Mandy Moore’s choreography and Mitchell and Caitlynn dancing contemporary. Happy Monday…and thanks for the encouragement to start this again Mil.

“We came for salvation…we came for family…we came for all that’s good that’s how we’ll walk away. We came to break the bad, we came to cheer the sad…we came to leave behind the world, a better way.”

My favorite Simon and Garfunkel song…Local Natives doing “Cecilia”
