Remember this bundle of joy? Well…she is growing so fast and a few weeks ago I was able to photograph part 2 of Braelyn’s “Baby’s First Year” shoot. Her parents and I went out to Old Town Spring and battled the humidity…I think we won that battle though! Here are a few of my faves. (Also, I LOVED that Braelyn showed up in a Texas Tech outfit. She is definitely a little Red Raider)!
It’s funny, I set this shot up for the bridal party to run at the bride and groom but I forgot to tell them to stop and as you can see Seth didn’t (and as you can tell by Kim’s face-she totally thought he was going to run into her)!
YEA BRETT AND KIM ARE MARRIED! I love these two people-and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to capture their special day the last weekend in July. I have known Brett and Kim for a long time now-both through Campus Crusade for Christ at Texas Tech…I met Kim her freshman year living in Stangel and through many trips by her room, Women’s Retreat planning, and just living life together-she is dear to my heart. And the Marcos family is legendary-Brett comes from a long line of people that I’ve known for years & also love starting with his parents, Jesse and Tricia and his sisters-Jessica and Julia. And did I mention I am friends with most of the wedding party as well? This equals a VERY FUN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT for me! Thanks Brett and Kim for your love, encouragement, and friendship. Thanks to Courtney Ryburn for second shooting and helping me tremendously, and Jennifer Boyd who not only designed the invitations for the wedding at Hodgepodge Design, but also played the role of my assistant that day. Jenn-you are such a good friend to me! A huge thanks to both these girls…I could not have made it without either of you! Back in May, I had another bridal adventure photographing my sweet friend Kim’s bridals. Most of the bridal photography I’ve had the honor to shoot have usually involved crazy circumstances (from food poisoning to 50 mph wind/dirt storms)…and this one was no different. A huge storm had blown into Lubbock with massive amounts of rain. As I was driving into town, I could not see how we would be able to shoot if something didn’t change. Thankfully, the skies parted for the length of time we shot, and it ended up being a beautiful session. Here a few of my favorites of the new Mrs. Brett Marcos. A few weekends ago I had the privilege of photographing a sweet and wonderful wedding for Lindsey Gandy and Luke Hays. I met Lindsey at Texas Tech her freshman year…she is the cousin of one of my best friends from college and she also was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ while I was working on the staff team there. I love this girl and most of the bridal party were girls I had in bible study over the years so it was a sweet reunion. Lindsey has been in Moscow, Russia these last three years doing ministry and that’s where she met Luke! Luke is from Michigan but also has a deep love for Russia and has been over there teaching and ministering as well. I really enjoyed getting to know Luke and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to photograph their special day. Thank you to Sarah Holt for seconding shooting for me-It was fun to be with you and shoot with you again. You are so talented my friend. And thanks also to Jori Gandy for playing many roles that day including my assistant! You rock. Here are a few of my favorites… 
One thing that was really unique about this wedding was that the locations for the wedding and the reception were the same as they were for Lindsey’s parents when they were married. On Lindsey’s bouquet she had a silk flower that was made from her mother’s veil that she wore during her wedding!
Ah the old…best man can’t find the ring trick! I have to say, it was pretty funny Lance:)
Luke and Lindsey had bells on the table to be rung as they were leaving…they were also rung to see the couple kiss-which Luke’s brother in law Dan did a lot!
