So I wasn’t going to post this Monday…I just didn’t have much to say and while I am so thankful I have a creative non work-related outlet such as Mix Tape Mondays to post stuff I’m thinking about, I just wasn’t feeling it today. However, after talking with my folks just now about last nights Academy Awards, I think I’ve got something. My dad and I just finished talking about Meryl Streep. Does she get tired of all the jabs about her many, many nominations…does she get embarrassed or self-conscience when all the spot light is on her at these award shows? I’m not sure, but as my dad correctly said-Meryl Streep will continue to get the acoloades and the awards because she is just THAT good. She is like the Shaun White of snowboarding in the world of acting…so much better than everyone else. Good point Dad!
So just as Julie Powell cooked through Julia Childs cookbook in the sweet Meryl Streep/Amy Adams movie, Julie and Julia…I have decided to watch my way through Meryl Streep’s film catalogue (at least the major ones). First up on my netflix queue will be “Deerhunter” from 1978 (great year) of which she was nominated, even then, by the Academy for Best Supporting Actress. It should be an interesting experiment and I sure hope Jeremy is up for a lot of Meryl Streep in the coming year (which he just informed me, that he is not). Here is the list of movies if you’re curious. It should take awhile and I may not finish but I’ll give it a go!
P.S. How wonderful was the John Hughes tribute last night at the Academy Awards? So sweet and what an impact he made on the world through his movies. Another post for another time!

There is something very calming about this picture to me…
And big brother, Lukas. He would only look at the camera if he could make a silly face:)

Mommy and Daddy helping to blow out candles
My sweet friend Charlotte and the birthday boy!
The littlest guest at the party, John…eating cake for the 2nd time in his life (I think?).
Daddy (Curtis) and the birthday boy!
Thank you Charlotte and Curtis for being our friends and for letting me capture Niklas’ birthday party (and thanks to all the moms in attendance for letting me photograph your kiddos). I had so much fun and I look forward to more birthday parties in the future!

Thankfully this picture does not show how Dana was getting eaten alive by mosquitos!
You should see these two on the dance floor! They are SO fun to watch.
Can you find my Jeremy in this pic?

This is my favorite from the session. Dana had actually yawned during shooting and it just looked cool so I made her yawn some more!
Thank you Dana and Jeff for being some of my biggest supporters and for letting me capture so many fun moments.
